MODESTO – A car shop went up in flames in Modesto on Sunday afternoon, forcing firefighters to call a two-alarm fire.

The Modesto Fire Department responded to the corner of N. 9th Street and Clayton Avenue sometime around 1 p.m. for reports of a large commercial structure fire.

At the scene, crews called for a two-alarm fire in an industrial storage building that was housing a car shop.

The fire was contained to the shop but it suffered heavy damage throughout.
